Jeep® Grand Cherokee offers three available 4x4 systems - Quadra-Lift®, Quadra-Trac II® and Quadra-Drive® II. So if you just need to tackle rough weather or you’re the ultimate off-roader, Grand Cherokee can handle it.
The standard Selec-Terrain system includes five modes to tackle any type of terrain. Traction is also enhanced through Quadra-Trac II® or Quadra-Drive II® 4x4 systems. The Quadra-Lift® air suspension system, with five height settings, lets you take things to another level.
This revolutionary system gives you ultimate control of Jeep® Grand Cherokee’s suspension. You can lower the vehicle’s height by 40 mm for easy entry, exit and loading; or you can rise it to increase clearance from the ground when driving off road. The system will also raise the vehicle from back to front to help keep headlights focused on the road.
Quadra-Drive® II gives you excellent capability and includes an Electronic Limited-Slip Differential (ELSD). It constantly transfers up to 100% of torque to the wheel(s) with most grip, to help deliver year-round traction on wet or dry surfaces.
Quadra-Trac II® offers all-speed traction control to help keep you on course. If wheel slippage occurs, torque can be routed to the axle with the most traction. Low-range helps provide rock-crawling prowess.
The 3.6L Pentastar® V6 engine features an extraordinary new 8-speed automatic transmission with steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters. The new Eco Mode helps provide impressive fuel efficiency. While the available Tow Group Package allows the Grand Cherokee to tow up to 2,812 kg.
Eco Mode helps improve fuel economy by adjusting the transmission shift schedule, idle speed and interactive deceleration fuel shut off. In models equipped with a V8 engine, Eco Mode also adjusts Fuel Saver cylinder deactivation. Automatically engaged upon vehicle start up, Eco Mode activates the available Quadra-Lift® air suspension system and lowers the Jeep® Grand Cherokee when the vehicle’s speed exceeds 88 kph (55 mph). On 4WD models in 4H, the system alters the front-to-rear torque split to help increase fuel efficiency.
With this technology when the vehicle brakes to a stop, fuel flow is cut and the engine turns off. When the brakes are released, the engine restarts.
Jeep® Grand Cherokee can tow an impressive maximum capacity of up to 3500kg. The Trailer Sway Control (TSC) feature helps stop trailers swaying and improves handling in adverse conditions like crosswinds, traffic or incorrect weight distribution on the trailer. TSC is automatically activated when the system senses the trailer is swaying more than it should.
